About MileOneCares
What are the areas of focus for MileOneCares?
Our philanthropic program, MileOneCares is committed to creating impactful partnerships with organizations who are transforming lives through:
- Access to Safe Transportation: Programs that enhance a person’s life or an organization’s ability to provide its goods or services through better access to means of transportation.
- Strengthening our Communities: Programs that promote a better quality of life within the communities where we do business. We place emphasis on programs that improve the lives of youth and the elderly, especially in areas that are underserved.
How do I know if I am eligible to apply for a MileOneCares Community Grant.
We fund organizations that:
- have 501 (c)(3) status, and
- have been in operation for at least four years and
- are working to improve the communities where MileOne employees and customers live and work; specifically, these organizations must be located in and/or impact the surrounding areas in which MileOne does business.
What is not funded through MileOneCares grants?
We cannot consider requests that:
- Discriminate in its programs, activities or hiring practices.
- Are from political groups or lobbying groups
- Are to support Conferences and Seminars
- Support Individuals (with the exception of the MileOne Support Fund and NextMile Scholarship Program)
- Are from non-profits who already received support from MileOne in the same calendar year.
When does MileOneCares accept grant applications?
We accept applications on a rolling basis between February 15th and November 15th. Requests must be received by November 15th in order to be considered for the same calendar year. Any application that is submitted outside of this window will be considered once our annual review process resumes.
Can an organization request a vehicle donation from MileOneCares?
While we do not donate vehicles to organizations, we have a program that is available to non-profits who are struggling with transportation issues. This program provides a resource and an opportunity to secure suitable, reliable, and affordable vehicles to meet their transit needs for the safety, comfort and dignity of the clients they serve. When filling out the grant application, make sure you select “Transportation – Vehicle Donation for Non-Profit” as your focus area.
I am individually raising money for a cause. Am I eligible for a grant?
No. MileOne awards grants to organizations directly rather than through individual funding activities; therefore, we are unable to donate fund directly to individuals.
