(Owings Mills, MD) - April 14, 2023 - In honor of “National EMT and Paramedic Appreciation Day” this Saturday, Apr. 15, MileOneCares — the charitable arm of Heritage | MileOne Autogroup and MileOne — pledged to match up to $250,000 in donations for the fundraising campaign of Chestnut Ridge Volunteer Fire Co. to purchase a new ambulance (“Medic 505”) and Advanced Life Support Unit, as well as the life-saving medical equipment required for both, totaling $565,000.

“The Chestnut Ridge Volunteer Fire Company works every day to save lives, and MileOneCares wants to ensure that they have the proper tools to do so,” said Amanda Kodeck, chief giving officer of MileOne Autogroup. “We are pleased to support the fundraising efforts for the Chestnut Ridge Volunteer Fire Company and hope others throughout the community will do the same.”

Recently, the fire company turned to MileOne in need of replacement vehicles for both units. Chestnut Ridge’s area of coverage consists of approximately 3,800 homes in Greenspring Valley across Owings Mills, Reisterstown, Lutherville and Cockeysville. As a nonprofit, Chestnut Ridge depends on the support of the community.

“We are grateful to Heritage | MileOne Autogroup and MileOneCares for their support in bringing state-of-the-art medical equipment to our community,” said Larry Getlan, president of the Chestnut Ridge Volunteer Fire Co. “The funds raised allows us to provide the highest quality care and equipment for everyone we serve.”

On Sunday, June 4, Heritage | MileOne Autogroup and MileOneCares will co-host a “Community Safety Day” with Chestnut Ridge from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The free event, which is open to the public, will include firetruck rides, raffles, snowballs and pit beef available for purchase. Proceeds will be donated directly to the fundraising drive.
