
Since partnering with Vehicles for Change in 2017, MileOne Autogroup has donated more than 200 vehicles total, valued at over $1.5 million, to families in need of transportation at a low cost.
In addition to its donations, MileOne Autogroup has hired 28 auto technicians through Vehicles for Change's Full Circle Auto Training Program, which offers re-entry opportunities for justice involved individuals and those facing underemployment or unemployment.
RECIPIENTS INCLUDE:
- ​Devonte McQueen-Riley is an Air Force veteran and father residing in Montgomery County. After his time in service, Devonte encountered significant transportation challenges that made it difficult to access essential resources, attend medical appointments, and pursue employment opportunities. Despite having a job lined up, the lack of reliable transportation kept him from beginning his career and maintaining the independence he once enjoyed. However, thanks to his partnership with Vehicles for Change and MileOne Autogroup, he is now ready to turn this new chapter in his life into a success.
- Army veteran and mother Arionne Land is a resident of Salisbury, Maryland in Wicomico County. The first thing Arionne plans to do with her new car is take a quiet moment to reflect on the kindness and generosity she has experienced. After that, she looks forward to returning home and getting back to work, with a renewed sense of independence and purpose.
- Navy resident Rafael Mason is a resident of Montgomery County and father of two. For Rafael, a car will provide the freedom and flexibility to pursue career opportunities, engage in educational commitments, and actively participate in his community without the constant worry of transportation challenges. When Rafael gets behind the wheel, the first place he plans to go is to Dunkin’ Donuts with his mother, a cherished routine the two share every morning. It’s a simple, yet meaningful moment that reflects his commitment to family and the joy of being able to share these experiences more easily with those he loves.
- Michelle Miller, a resident of Wicomico County, is a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. With the ability to drive, Michelle looks forward to managing her own transportation to work and doctor appointments, removing the need to rely on others for help. She dreams of making a summer trip to the beach, embracing the joy of travel that most take for granted. This car will give her the independence she has longed for, transforming the daily struggle of mobility into an opportunity for freedom and enjoyment.
